# Setup A destructive fault preflight

Status: complete; authority, safety confirmation, and electronic recovery baseline recorded before successful fault execution
Type: evidence
Updated: 2026-07-16
Next Action: none; execution evidence is in `configuration-fault-matrix-20260716.md`
Campaign Reason: Historical record from campaign 009-complete-clean-contract-bound-a-b-qualification; retained independently after campaign closure and requires no separate owner-queue execution.
Campaign: standalone
Parent: work/wp/completed/wp-semantic-configuration-validation-and-recovery.md

## Authority

The owner approved Setup A for destructive VEEPROM/flash fault injection and
controlled power interruption in the Codex thread on 2026-07-16. This approval
does not waive the physical safety and recovery stop conditions in the hardware
qualification checklist.

## Electronic preflight

- J-Link V9.60 serial `69664082` connected to the R7FS7G27H over SWD at 4 MHz.
- Target voltage: 3.308 V.
- Startup status: `gPowerOnStatus = 0xC00000FF`.
- The live program image previously matched the exact Debug S-record now under
  qualification; its SHA-256 remains
  `70CA38269672AAA433F567FCCDA39B36FBE430410B58E72F61156AEF00B88EBC`.
- Fresh captures completed without target mutation.

| Capture | Bytes | SHA-256 |
| --- | ---: | --- |
| `program-flash-jlink-69664082-20260716-pre-fault.bin` | 3,145,728 | `D412034EF082A72B284D13B4E3D47C75773BE3FAA930FD66A67C27A2539866B0` |
| `veeprom-jlink-69664082-20260716-pre-fault.bin` | 4,096 | `C0AD6BF06D7CA041F36D09A7CBF4205F40E5C762AA736A582AECD080C4B48EFE` |
| `option-memory-jlink-69664082-20260716-pre-fault.bin` | 48 | `80A76A18ACF8CB64FEC3A659FFC4BAB4A87CD9A6FDE4DAB2161A8751D136C9D2` |

The option-memory capture is byte-identical by hash to the prior fingerprint
candidate baseline.

## Physical stop conditions

- Confirm Setup A is not serving a process.
- Disconnect or safely simulate heater/output loads unless an attended energized
  test specifically requires them.
- Confirm independent over-temperature protection and an accessible power disconnect.
- Identify the operator who will stop on uncontrolled heating, repeated reset,
unexpected output, corrupt calibration, smoke, excessive current, or loss of
  recovery/debug access.

The owner confirmed all four conditions before mutation on 2026-07-16.

No VEEPROM, flash, RAM control setting, SD media, or power state was mutated in
this preflight. Subsequent authorized execution is recorded separately.
