## Migration

| Device at migration | Serial | Old label | New label | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| `/dev/sda1` | `_USB_DISK_2.0-0:0` | `B-CTRL` | `USB01_2G` | verified |
| `/dev/sdb1` | `1003112253528015858612` | `A-CTRL` | `USB02_8G` | verified |
| `/dev/sdc1` | `071C49DE25C08808` | `B-CTRL-2` | `USB03_32G` | verified |
| `/dev/sdd1` | `071C49DE246A1F97` | `A-CTRL-2` | `USB04_32G` | verified |

The standard FAT label utility handled USB01, USB03, and USB04. It refused
USB02 because its two historical FAT copies differ. USB02 was therefore
changed label-only at the validated FAT32 primary boot label, backup boot
label, and root-directory volume-label entry. Its FAT tables and historical
`HPTE.TMP` state were not modified.

Historical evidence and raw captures were deliberately not rewritten.

## Physical sticker mapping

- `USB01_2G` → `B1`
- `USB02_8G` → `A1`
- `USB03_32G` → `B2`
- `USB04_32G` → `A2`

These stickers are permanent specimen shorthand and do not indicate the
controller currently hosting the drive.
