## Allocation and candidate

| Controller | USB drive | J-Link | SD raw CID |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| A / `1751136` | `USB01_2G` | `69664082` | `035344535330384780976F0084018559` |
| B / `1751219` | `USB05_4G` | `69660123` | `035344535330384780976F0085018507` |

Both controllers ran Stage 1 Release S-record SHA-256
`713B60D7D5B58E55FB6979FCAAC5E0BE551E4ECA5D6D637EA06B4768F4E90655`.
No VBUS diagnostic, controller-driven USB power cycle, remount, optional SCSI
command, drive-specific branch, or retry was used.

## Controller workflow result

Both drives mounted on their first powered insertion with media generation `1`,
handoff acceptance mask `15`, two strict WAV files, and zero system errors.

| Gate | USB01 on A | USB05 on B |
| --- | ---: | ---: |
| WAV load terminal | `1000`, PASS | `1000`, PASS |
| Sound 1 final state | idle, errors `0` | idle, errors `0` |
| PID request | accepted, errors `0` | accepted, errors `0` |
| Image result / progress | success / `1000` | success / `1000` |
| Image bytes / writes / maximum | `8,388,864 / 8,193 / 1,024` | `8,388,864 / 8,193 / 1,024` |
| Image elapsed | `407.72 s` | `239.87 s` |
| HPT records | `65` healthy, `0` degraded | `0` healthy, `61` degraded |
| HPT gaps / complete / published | `0 / 1 / 1` | `0 / 1 / 1` |
| HPT/USB/first USB failure | `0 / 0 / 0` | `0 / 0 / 0` |
| HPT bytes / writes / maximum | `3,990 / 4 / 1,024` | `3,739 / 4 / 1,024` |
| Final mounted / system errors | `1 / 0` | `1 / 0` |

Controller B's 61 degraded HPT records are the preserved source-media health
classification from its retained history. The export itself completed with
zero HPT status, USB status, gaps, and failure status.

On each freshly formatted drive, image telemetry recorded one `FX_NOT_FOUND`
status (`4`) while probing whether a prior published image existed before the
atomic rename. The production code explicitly accepts that first-publication
condition; result, progress, publication, and system-error authorities all
reported success.

## Independent Pi validation

The drives returned with their original identities and were inspected without
repair. Read-only FAT checks reached the last sector, found two consistent FATs,
no lost or cross-linked clusters, and left both filesystems unchanged. The
Windows root-directory label versus blank boot-sector label condition remained
the only notice.

| Output | USB01_2G | USB05_4G |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Recovery image | `8,388,864` bytes, SHA-256 `908966E3460C1594D21DE0B379BE2B06F1D51057A7EC5D1C25D0540F2381D7D9` | same |
| PID text | `225` bytes, SHA-256 `6BCB89F2EFACC503B950EF00151A51AF8353C40B53781110C14DDC441737FC3A` | same |
| HPT CSV | `R1A_USB01.csv`, `3,990` bytes, 65-record `COMPLETE` trailer | `R1B_USB05.csv`, `3,739` bytes, 61-record `COMPLETE` trailer |
| WAV 00 | `198,566` bytes, SHA-256 `37A9DC665366F06D8081B23ECF88BDB30CF81546C3A10EDA1BE827DE2D006B92` | same |
| WAV 01 | `176,516` bytes, SHA-256 `E22FC8FFF2CF68878C56EA87660CA2325E0FBF04CF091AAEB112A7F274B1B2F7` | same |
| Unexpected `.tmp` / `.part` / `.bak` | none | none |

No USB reset, SCSI sense, medium, buffer-I/O, device-offline, or block I/O error
was logged. Both drives were left on the Pi and unmounted.

## Disposition

Round 1 passes broad-path functional and independent-media validation. This is
two of the required eight controller/drive observations and does not by itself
qualify Stage 1B or authorize Stage 2.
